So tiny grandma (aka my mom) made the trek from dry bumpy Albuquerque to humid flat Indianapolis for the weekend. the moosh was stoked.
Feel the love.
Why do I call my mom tiny grandma?

Tiny grandma has quirks, ones I forgot about having not lived with her for awhile. Here are a few of them.
A. Her neti pot. She swears she’d die a slow horrible congested death without this thing. She uses it everyday. If she doesn’t, you’ll hear about it. She’ll even try to convince you to use one. I don’t. I think it’s weird. But whatever floats her sinuses.
B. Hair clips, always. Hair clips, everywhere.
C. Samples and trial sizes, girl loves samples and trial sizes like raccoons love shiny things. They go with her everywhere.
D. Shower cap, she’s the only person I know that uses a shower cap. I feel like I should use a shower cap because she does.
E. Bluetooth, when you call her expect a 14 second delay between “HELLO!” and the next word while she puts her headset in. I’d like to say Bluetooth was invented because of my mom.
So there’s a bit of background, on to her visit. I took her downtown to see the “art”.

Then I took her to eat cheeseburgers. Actually I just took her to wear the hat, the cheeseburgers were the bonus.

Then we blew bubbles. Actually I blew bubbles, the moosh popped them, tiny grandma photographed them.

I came really close to passing out right around bubble 2,876.

I took her to yoga with me. Little did we know the zoo was hosting a free yoga class outside the deserts pavilion.

Then we ran around and took pictures of my kid.
Because I don’t have enough pictures of her.

Did I mention tiny grandma is a photographer? Like for real for real? Buy and hang some of her stuff on your walls, or if you’re in New Mexico let her take your picture. She’s pretty stinkin’ good.

Would you expect any less from and Indiana zoo?

Looking for polar bears.

Looking for dolphins.

People say they can tell we are mother and daughter, I honestly couldn’t see it until this picture was taken.

On her last night in town the tiny moosh curled up in a tiny lap and watched Dora before bed.

the moosh misses tiny grandma.
I miss tiny grandma.
Come back soon tiny grandma.
Neti pot and all.

Ohhh, I think I love your mom!! I’m a huge neti pot fan also. And, I try to get people to use one all the time!
A woman after my own heart.
Looks like you had a blast!

Great post! I’m glad you had a fun visit with your mom! And she might be a for real for real photographer (and the photos of the bubbles are great) but you take some pretty gorgeous pics yourself. Of course it helps that your kid is so freaking adorable!

Oh my stars—my Dad uses a shower cap too! I should show you the pics I have, or at least one. They are hysterical! (look for one on my site soon!)
Seriously, on the photography, I’d like to see some. We live in the Southwest too and would love some good southwestern photography. Does she have a website portfolio?
Loved the pics!

Your mom looks like a lot of fun, which is always a good quality in the grandma.
And what’s up with the downtown Indy “art”? We were there a few weeks ago and saw one of those with an image of a woman in a miniskirt dancing. My husband turned to me and asked, “What is that? Are they advertising prostitutes or something?”

I have a tiny mom too! She also wears a shower cap (to protect her permed hair!)and is all about the hands-free phone. I don’t think she’s ever heard of a neti pot though -and honestly, I find them terribly disturbing.

Lord, you two look more like sisters than mother & daughter! And what is up with frying so much stuff up there in Indy? I thought we Southerners had the market on frying - in every way imaginable.

Sniffle, sniffle. I miss you, I miss Indy, I miss Tiny Grandma. Your mom’s hair has GROOOOOOWWWWWNNNNNNN!!!! SO long, and it is hard to tell the difference between you two, because, well, you’re both tiny around the middle! Love your cute zoo post, love the fried Pepsi and the polar bear!
Hugs.

That was soooo sweet!
Your mom’s quirks sound much more tolerable than mine. Does she read your blog?
I kid!
Beautiful pictures.

What a sweet (and funny, of course!) post…I absolutely love when my mom comes to visit for a few days. The boys adore her, and we always have such a good time.
Man, the moosh is gorgeous!

One of my best friends swears by (what I’ve dubbed) the inPOD (insane neti pot of death). Just hearing about it makes my eyes water. My lawyer is researching the legal precedence for terminating a friendship on the grounds of irreconcilable inPOD differences.

Ok, I have to admit, after I saw the Neti Pot on Oprah I’ve really wanted to try one. I get really congested when I’m prego and get desperate! (insert sheepish grin here)
Your Mom is so pretty and looks like so much fun! You know- I don’t think I’ve ever met her. She reminds me of Lois Lane. Spunky!
