If you’ve watched any of the Olympics then you have probably heard that swimmer Michael Phelps ingests about 10,000 calories a day during the Olympics.

If you have read any of my blog over the past week you have probably heard that I ended up going to the fair five times.

Indiana state fair x 5= 10,000 calories (give or take)

10,000 calories = Phelpsing

I Phelpsed myself at the fair.

Want a list?

2 elephant ears

2 cobs of corn drowned in butter

2 Indiana beef ribeye sandwiches

2 sides of baked beans

1 corndog

1 huge lemon shakeup

1 enormous pineapple/strawberry whip

1 deep fried Wunderbar

1/2 plate of spiral fried potatoes w/ hot cheese dip

2 chocolate milks

I’m going to have to answer to Wii Fit this week.

I may be the first person ever to be physically attacked by Wii Fit.

“It’s wasn’t me Wii Fit! I was Phelpsed by the fair! Honestly!”

I can’t believe you were able to restrain yourself that well. If I had gone to the fair five times, my list would be like: 5 corndogs, 5 elephant ears, 5 soft pretzels, 5 trays of nachos, 5 giant lemonades… I’d probably ingest 10,000 calories each time! See, you should be proud of yourself!!

I have a teenage son, there’s a lot of phelpsing going on at our house.

What I want to know is, were you able to swim really really fast after you left the fair?

I’ve hit my limit of fair food.. We were there Wed through last night showing our draft horses. We were walking past the deep fried snowball and twinkie place yesterday and the guy yelled at my husband something along the lines of “you ready to get your twink on?”. Too funny.. Also, curious here - I usually don’t deviate from my standard fair favorites because hey, my gut actually does have only so much room, even though I do push the limit - but I’m curious on the elephant ears, aka “fried dough” at my fair. Should I forgo the funnel cake in favor of the elephant ear? What say you?

10,000 calories is so much food…

i figure it is about 6 chipotle burritos in one day! I can hardly eat half of one, i couldn’t imagine eating that much in one day!

but…he is young, male, and in shape…

I have my own Pelpsing diet, which I try not to share on the Internet, and most definitely did not include the entire batch of brownies AND the pan of lemon bars. Nope. Not at all.

The horses are Haflingers and smaller than the Belgians. You don’t have to be a giant to handle them! Keep us in mind next year when you’re phelpsing at the State Fair, we’ve got little ones running around so the Moosh is safe getting up close and personal to our horses..
