Remember when I was all “OOH! I HAVE A HAIR GIRL! OOH SHE’S AWESOME! LOOK WHAT SHE DID!”

Refresher, she did this:

Well shortly after telling everyone about her and raving about her, she busted up her shoulder and is no longer able to do hair.

I’ve been in mourning. Unable to face another stylist search. That is until yesterday. By chance I walked into a funky salon in a very eclectic part of town looking for a particular curl creme for the moosh. We were headed off to have her haircut cut at one of those chain places when I asked if anyone there was good at curly cuts.

Why yes there is and she’ll be here at one.

Sweet.

As I paid for the moosh’s new do I asked “What about me?”

How about 4:15 tomorrow?

I have finally embraced what my natural curl allows me to do and what it keeps me from having to do (like curl my entire head of hair, instead I just have to curl the top layer. Sweet.)

I have hair envy… so here’s the deal, for 5 years I have had my hair cut by the same person. One of my best friends opened up a salon in my hometown and she is awesome! So funky, so wonderful so easy because not only is she wicked at the whole hair thing but she knows me, knows what I like, knows what works. I went every 6 weeks sat down had a tea, chatted and then at the end my hair was cut with no effort on my part. Two and a half years ago I did the unthinkable, I moved across the country to the land void of best friend hair dressers! I finally thought I found someone, she cut my hair I liked it… I went back again BAM she no longer works there! So I take a gamble with one of the other stylists yesterday and lets just say that when it was all said and done I got into the car, looked into the mirror and said “I immediately regret my decision” it’s not a bad hair cut it’s just not me, it’s not what I wanted nor is it what I asked for. I am starting to get used to it but clearly have not accepted it or I wouldn’t be here rambling on and on and on about how I miss my hair!

Your hair however, it looks wonderful.

I must say, all my best hair cuts have been in Indiana. It’s the only place I’ve gotten my hair cut for the last few years. Ok i’ve gotten it cut around here (southern Utah/Nevada area) but I’ve hated it. Now my mom is probably moving… So now what am I going to do? No more trips to Indy, does this mean no more great hair cuts? I don’t think I have what it takes to find a hair stylist when I know there is one out there that I love no matter how she cuts my hair.

The Moosh is lucky to have a mom who can teach her to care for her curls.

It took me a LONG time to embrace my natural curl. Or even use a styling product! My mom’s hair is straight as can be. I don’t think I figured it out until I was 25.

It would almost be worth driving to Indy to have my hair done. You look amazing! I really love the darker red and the curl. My miracle is finally scheduled to happen this coming Tuesday. I’m a little nervous to lose so much. But, I swear, I’m going through with it. Can’t wait to show you pictures!

Wow, I love the curly do! I’m always trying to encourage our naturally curly girls here in the office to embrace the curl. And in your middle picture, it’s the same look I had a year ago when I got a bad cut from someone who was supposedly a professional.
