I want to tell you about the drug store employee that pulled a power trip on me.

I want to tell you how I almost caused the population of Hoosier hummingbirds to go extinct.

I want to tell you about Nigel Barker in a wetsuit asking if you’re ready to get wet.

I want to tell you about the love letter my husband wrote me.

I want to tell you about our family trip to Disneyworld in two weeks.

I want to tell you that I thought I was pregnant. And then I thought I wasn’t. And then I thought I was.

I want to tell you that I really wanted to be pregnant. But not really. But maybe, just not now.

Meh.

Anyway. It’s been a long time since I’ve asked you guys what the best thing was that happened to you in the last week. Anything. Naps, shiny hair, baby laughs, pregnancies, return of a favorite show? Lay it on me. And let me know if you want to know more about any of that other stuff up there.

It’s one of my favorite things about my blog. What makes you happy.

Finding a preschool for my seriously suffering from terrible twos two and a half year old son. I love him dearly, he’s awesome, but I’ve been sick for a long time and I need to be able to rest and still like him at the end of the day. This gives me that and I’ve even mostly gotten over the “failure of a mom” feeling. That may not seem like a happy but it totally is.

That and my other kid is writing letters, not all but some, and that is awesome!

This week, autumn in New England is making me very happy. The maples are turning a deep red and everyone has mums and pumpkins on their front porches and it gives me a warm, fuzzy feeling. I feeling blessed to live here.

I’ve had kind of a rough last few weeks, but this week has been sunny almost every day! And nine days ago I got to hold a very new lamb! AND, AND!!! I totally rocked a computer skills test that I took at a temp agency yesterday. (Thanks for making me think of the good things that have happened lately. It reminded me that, hey! My life isn’t as bad as I might think it is sometimes!)

The best thing that happened to me this week was one of my first graders said “You tell us you’re the meanest teacher at school, but you’re really the nicest!” Then the rest of the class agreed. It made my day.

The best thing that happened to me this week was going to the first meeting of the photography class I’m taking (which I’ve been agonizing about for weeks).

I was neither the youngest nor the oldest, neither the dumbest nor the smartest, neither the novice nor the expert. I was simply able to show up and learn. Go figure.

I got a little jealous this week when I found out my hair dresser is pregnant…and my daughter only just got her first tooth yesterday! I too then thought I was pregnant, then thought I wasn’t, and then thought I was again. I’m not. I don’t think. But I want to be. Just not right now

My favorite thing was when this hilarious girl showed up late to a baby shower last night because she had “accidentally” gone to a liquor store.

It’s been a good week. My older son turned four. I went to the Little Big Town – Carrie Underwood concert. Oh, and Nigel was very yummy.

And I was also excited about Pam & Jim getting engaged on The Office. My husband had to shush me since the kids were asleep and I was squealing.

Best thing about my week? Got engaged last night.

Mine is a tie.

I had my OB check up Tuesday and everything is perfect! Baby is perfectly healthy! YAY!! I am almost 27 weeks! My 3rd trimester starts in a few days!

Also Survivor came back on last night!!! I am so hooked on that show!!

Best thing of my week? Will be today at 4:30. I’m babysitting an 11-month-old boy that has to be held ALL DAY LONG and he DOES NOT NAP. Seriously! He drives me insane. Literally. Stress headache where my head meets my neck. We’re going away for the weekend – away from children that are not ours. WHOOPEEEEEE!!

I love that Jim proposed to Pam on the office last night in the rain it warmed my heart. I love that Survivor is back. I love long phone conversations this week with old friends that know me from way back when. I love that boy1 is doing SO well in preschool that I just want to scream loudly to anyone that will listen to me that my son is using his words instead of his actions! Hip Hip Hooray!

My 12 year old, who is detaching from me a little every day, has had some exquisite lovey-dovey moments with me this week. Yesterday she told me we’re best friends. Boy am I going to cling to that memory in the years to come!

okay, it doesn’t necessarily make me happy, but it does make me laugh my butt off…

You almost killed all the hummingbirds in the state? That’s impressive, if not all that good.

The baby’s two weeks, now, and has started looking up at me when we cuddle. Plus, the weather is unnaturally cool for this part of the country and it feels fabulous.

What makes me happy? Knowing that because of my blog I’ve met some incredible people. Knowing that you have been so kind and wonderful to me when I needed it. Knowing that you ask what makes your readers happy, knowing that you are there to listen and support me. Knowing that you believe in me.

Knowing that this rainy day allowed me to get a nap in. Knowing that when I get to work today H will greet me at the door, excited to play. Knowing that H’s mom, J, will be able to have some time to get things done while I have H. Knowing that I’m helping H.

Knowing that I’m not alone, that there are people who care if I’m having a bad day or not. Knowing that there are sunny days ahead.

I want to hear about all of them. I want to know it all.

I put down my deposit on a tour to Prague, Vienna and Salzburg my church choir is taking next summer. I’ve never been to Europe and I’m so excited!

Bad- Tests came back, not pregnant just faulty boobs, I cried
Good- my kid finally took a bottle this morning
Bad- she hates the bottle, she went 13 hours with out eating before she gave in

Anna-You totally made ME snort! I teach high school….and my great thing this week was one of my students spontaneously said (in front of the vice-principal) “You know, I don’t like this science very much. I really like YOU, but just not science.” So now I have a swelled head AND a goal!

my best friend found out that she is pregnate, 6 months to the day of loosing her first son to SIDS.

Today is a very, very, blessed day.

Going to my first REAL (kind of) concert to see our FAVORITE comedian (Brian Regan) for my birthday! SO great!!

My antidepressants are finally working and I’m smiling again.

Honestly, the best thing that happened to me this week was that my husband was able to come and sit with me at the emergency room for the headache I’ve had for the past 10 days. I had brain surgery a year ago to fix these headaches and they’ve suddenly returned, (but stronger) and with more neuro symptoms. We don’t know what’s wrong and 2 different narcotics, extremely vast sums of advil, tylenol, aleve and migraine meds have done nothing, so it’s been possibly one of the worst weeks ever.

In retrospect, the best thing that happened to me this week, was the people who read my blog. Because they pretty much kicked ass. I have like the best support system ever. If only they performed lobotomies.

The best part of my week was the debate last night. (NERD!) Actually, to clarify: I go to a teeny tiny liberal arts college on Manhattan, and the debate watching party was the closest thing we will ever have to a big rival football game. Everyone got drunk and yelled at the television. Obama 08!
