PHEW.

So, BlogHer 2011. We survived! WHEE! I am still here hanging out with tiny gramma and my sister who drove down to meet me from Utah. Baby on the beach. It will happen.

what to do. what to do.

I wrote about bringing your baby to BlogHer here. And I wrote about strangers touching my baby here.

(Um, some people in the comments seem to think that touching a strangers baby is A-OK. This shall be a topic of further debate, feel free to weigh in over there.)

Yesterday a couple of people admitted to being absolutely sure I didn’t like them when I first met them. This makes me sad. Because I didn’t meet a single person this weekend that I didn’t like. In fact I enjoyed being around all of you. Yes, even that girl. So if you got the impression that I didn’t like you? IT WAS ALL A LIE! I think I have a naturally grumpy looking face so, sorry about that. Hugs and kisses next time we see each other?

I’d be remiss not to mention my lovely and adorable sponsor for BlogHer ’11. I’m not sure how I was lucky enough to come across them but the company is Perinka and they make adorable baby items, clothing and AMAZING stroller liners.

But Casey? How can a stroller liner be amazing? Well let me tell you how a stroller liner can be amazing.

perinka stroller liner and sleepy baby.

A) I have a very sweaty baby. VERY sweaty. (Wrote about sweaty baby here!) and with the Perinka stroller liner behind her there were no sweaty baby episodes. As I said on twitter, sweaty babies rarely make good impressions.

B) It’s super pink and girly. Which means my girly baby was recognized as a girl far more often in her brown and black stroller. Not that it matters if someone calls your baby a boy when she’s actually a girl or that you even have gender specific items for your baby, long story short I LIKE IT AND IT’S CUTE. (There are at least a dozen patterns/colors available.)

C) When it comes time for her to nosh on crackers and assorted round cereals there will be no crumbs smashed into where the seat meets the back. Not to mention if there is ever a poonami? SO MUCH EASIER to clean the stroller liner than the whole entire stroller.

D) I hadn’t thought of this, but someone at the conference pointed it out, a stroller liner is a great way to make an older stroller new again, give twins each a unique look to their side of the stroller or fancy up an existing stroller for a new baby.

E) The thing is PLUSH. And SOFT. I’m not ashamed to admit that I wanted to kick the baby out of the stroller so I could sleep in it. But I didn’t. Ten gold stars to me.

You can get 10% off with the code ‘CASEY’ at Perinka and shipping is always free on purchases over $100. Since they are a new company they’re also giving away an iPad 2. When you like Perinka on facebook you can enter a photo of your baby, one winner will win an iPad 2 and a Perinka gift pack and two other winners will win Perinka products.

We’re off to Balboa Park to bond and enjoy the marvelous weather down here. Hope you’re well. xo

(DISCLOSURE: A portion of my conference fees were covered by Perinka and I was given a stroller liner to use while at the conference. All opinions and expressions are my own as usual.)

Comments

  1. Poonami? That’s hilarious.

And those stroller liners are adorable.

  2. Amy in StL says:

LOL, the link for Perinka stroller liners is blocked by our Websense software at work. Category: Sex. I’ve got no idea what’s on that site; but it must be amazing if our software blocks it.

  3. I’ve never seen a stroller liner, what agreat idea! I am reusing my son’s baby items(having a girl this time, YAY!) and have been thinking of ways to distinguish she’s a girl w/out going overboard with the bows.

  4. I can’t HANDLE the cute. Good gravy. When my kids were this age I really felt like I could eat. them. all. day.

  5. I have the same problem with people thinking I don’t like them or am glaring at them. Weird. It’s so very rarely true!! I’m glad you had such a great time, and as sad as I am that I wasn’t there, I’m a teeny bit glad because I would have had my three-month-old with me and probably would have freaked at the baby-touchers. NOT A FAN.

  6. Wait, people really think its ok to touch a baby they have no connection to? I’m going to have to go check that out.

Second, I will buy one of these immediately. Two actually, since I’ve got twins. I wonder if it would work in a car seat?? One of my girls NO MATTER WHAT ends up spitting something up in her car seat. No matter what.

  7. It was SO fantastic to meet you and YOUR Vivienne. Thanks for being so kind and so sweet. (I’m the one whose baby is also Vivienne.)

    Take care!

  8. 1. I loved seeing you on Saturday, if only for a couple minutes.

    2. Stroller liners rule! I love to change up my ol’ boring stroller every once in awhile.

  9. I’ve never had issues with people kissing my babies but they cannot keep their hands out of my girls hair. It makes me INSANE. I spend hours trying to get their hair in to something functional, cute, and soft that will last more than ten minutes. Strangers seem to think that ethnic hair done well on a dark little girl with a white mom means they need to get their hands all in the hair and comment over and over again about how they could never do hair that was so “different”.

Luckily, my little one has taken to yelling DON’T TOUCH MY HAIR when someone starts reaching for it. I know it’s rude but so is unwelcome touching. It’s their body and their choice – no touching the hair!

  10. It was so great to see you this weekend. I loved hanging out and talking and squishing a sweet wee little baby!!!

  11. Ha! I thought you didn’t like me 2 years ago at Blissdom. Good to know… Adorable stroller liners – fantastic idea. And I personally love your sponsored posts. (You may be the ONLY person I could honestly say that to.) End of most Awkward Comment Ever.

  12. I have to say I never even noticed the stroller liner. I guess I was just too distracted by the adorableness that is Vivi.

  13. Beautiful baby and a great color scheme going there. And the liners look great as well.
