moosh in indy.

playing store, a giveaway.

Comments Closed-Congratulations to ZealandsMom for winning!

the moosh has opened shop, the grand opening was last week.

melissa and doug and moosh

Okay, so she’s a little low on merchandise, unless you’re looking for some 2.5 lb. weights, a sponge or some plastic plates. But really? The service is impeccable. And what you can’t see is that behind that curly mop is a photo of her parents. The true cornerstone of any start up venture.

With all the tea and cakes being served I’ve already forgotten that there was some sweat and slight frustration involved in putting it together, truth is the moosh helped me put it together and when we were all done I could see her beaming with pride at building her first business from the ground up. Literally.

Melissa And Doug And moosh

The “grocery store” sign at the top reverses to “lemonade” meaning I can put her out on the street corner come summer and she can start earning college tuition. She’s already very convincing at selling imaginary tea and cakes so just imagine what she can do with the real deal.

The house of moosh is full of toys from Melissa and Doug. Our favorites being their puzzles. Or the cutting food. Or the stringing beads. Miss moosh had just as much fun with them when she was teeny tiny as she does now at the ripe old entrepreneurial age of five.

Want to win a Melissa and Doug Grocery Store/Lemonade Stand of your own?

Head on over to Melissa and Doug and tell me your favorite product, is it one you already own? Or one that you’ve always wanted? Leave a comment below with a valid email and your favorite product and you’re entered.

Want up to 4 more entries? Then do any or all of the following:

-tweet this giveaway

-follow Melissa and Doug on Twitter

-subscribe to the Melissa and Doug Blog

-subscribe to the Melissa and Doug Newsletter

Let me know which of the above you did (don’t lie or your pants will catch on fire) and you’ll have up to five chances to win a start-up company for your very own playroom.

Giveaway ends Monday January 18th and Midnight EST. Open to the US only. (Sorry Canada, but you have poutine, we do not.)

(This is an uncompensated giveaway. I like Melissa and Doug, always have, and you should too. I was provided with two toys, one to keep and one to giveaway to you.)

The twitter link does not work. I did thw other 3 things you asked.

I just searched for them on twitter then started following them.

We own a tons of Melissa and Doug puzzles which we really love. My personal favorites are the velcro food which we got for our niece’s birthday. They are the coolest!!

We love us some M&D wooden puzzles. The kid hasn’t quite figured them out yet, but he likes to carry the pieces around.

Aaaaaaand, I’m following M&D now. I just love all their stuff.

Boo for no Canadians allowed!

We have many M&D toys and love them all.

But especially the puzzles. Hand-crafted and classic.

And now I follow their tweets!

I love, love their wooden puzzles!

Their musical puzzles are awesome (except? When we flick certain light switches/turn on certain lamps? It totally makes the puzzle start playing music in an odd way. It’s a little freaky at first but you get used to it. HA!!)

I would definitely pick the wooden railway set… my 3-year old son Oliver is very into trains right now!

Also Tweeted (here), and I follow their Tweets too!

Dollhouses!

I love anything in the food play set. When I was a kid I loooved playing with food and I hope my little girl wants to as well!

I love the velcro/cuttable birthday cake. My nieces and nephews play with it ALL the time. Love Melissa and Doug.

Love their puzzles, but currently my daughter is very into and excited about the M&D Band in a Box…
this would be such a coool birthday gift (1/31)
Love the blog!!

We have the nesting/stacking blocks and LOVE them! My girls would love ANY of the play food- the ice cream parlor set in particular. I would love to get the Railway train set- my boys would play with that for hours.. and I think I would, too!

My favorite Melissa&Doug products are the puzzles-any of them. The monkey is now six and has always loved puzzles. They kept him entertained for hour.

Yay! In our new house my son will actually have his own room with you know, room for toys!
We currently have the stacking train and it’s pretty cool…
Nana and Papa have the train set at their house and just got the figure 8 addition to it. That toy ROCKS!

I love all Melissa & Doug stuff, but I just saw the shopping cart and I want it – we’ve been through a couple of those crappy plastic ones.

We are all about the cutting food here. Veggies!

And the peg puzzles. Love those too. Also their coloring books, while pricey do not have licensed characters, which this mama likes!

I am a big fan of their puzzles. My kids love them!

My daughter just got the slice and bake cookie set for Christmas. It is so fun and she loves it! The cookies velcro together and you can take them out of the tube and “cut” them into individual cookies and then the cookies velcro to the cookie sheet and there are “decorations” that velcro onto the cookies. It even comes with a cute little oven mitt. They would probably go really well with lemonade…

our favorite M&D product (it’s so hard to choose) is probably the pizza set, or maybe the farm animal cube puzzle, or maybe the wooden dinosaur puzzle.

I LOVE melissa and doug. Spent the last 2 hours cleaning up all their puzzles. I swear we own them all. I love and am coveting the magnet buckle and hide and seek games. We struggle with OT needs and activities… I follow them on twitter. I get their newletter and I get their blog .. WAHOO!!

My daughter’s favorite new word is “fish”. I’m trying to introduce her to puzzles and I’m sure that she would really enjoy the Wooden Fishbowl Knob Puzzle. We don’t own any but I’m really tempted to buy her this…Don’t tell my husband!

*I subscribed to the blog & the newsletter, too!

I subscribed to the Melissa and Doug blog.

I don’t typically enter into giveaways, but I’m going to bite on this one. Why? Because I fought with everything I had to get my 2-year old the Deluxe Kitchen Set for Christmas and my husband denied me with every very good reason I came up with. The grocery stand is no kitchen set (my favorite item along with the cookie set) but it’s pretty darn cool if I do say so myself. I also hit the follow button on twitter and signed up for the newsletter.

I love Melissa and Doug stuff so much! Dean has a puzzle that’s musical instruments and when you put them in the right spot, it plays “Old MacDonald!”

I love all things Melissa and Doug, especially their play food sets. The velcro is SO fun! They recently started selling their products at Old Navy too, mostly just puzzles and a couple of stacking toys. Love it!

I love the Slice and Bake Cookie Set! It’s super cute that the cookies can be decorated.

Love their velcro food. I’m crossing my fingers!

Just started following them on Twitter. So, yes, I’m entering the contest, but I really just want to say that I think Moosh is so adorable!

I love the play food!!! Pretty please pick me / the baby bruiser!!

The tree house has always been my favorite, but I got my daughter 2 stamp sets for Christmas.

The Icecream cone set!

Our house is full- FULL!- of Melissa and Doug toys. Let’s see, we love the pizza and bday cake. Those have been around here forever. Marin got the roll of cookies for her bday and she LOVES it. We have the beads, stamps, stick horse, instrument set, several puzzles, and more that I can’t recall right now.

We LOVE it all. It plays well and (some of it) has been played with daily for going on 7 years now.

What we don’t have? The grocery store. We’d love it!

Tweeted too!

Oh, I am ALL OVER this one!!! I am a HUGE fan of M&D! The first toy we bought from them was a set of classic colored wooden blocks that came in it’s own wooden pull cart. I had some very similar to those growing up and LOVED them so we got some for Hannah for Christmas when she was 2 1/2. I can’t even begin to tell you how many ways she has used them….this girl has a imagination like no other! My personal favorite has been when she makes ice cream cones .

Oh and I totally did all FIVE of the ways you mentioned we could enter! Would posting on Facebook count as a SIXTH?? ;)

I covet the Melissa & Doug shopping cart. My friends’ kids have one, and it’s ADORABLE!

Oops, I forgot to say favorite items, I really love their puzzles, so durable.

I LOVE that huge giraffe! I’d love to win this for my niece.

We LOVE Melissa & Doug in our house! I think my girls’ favorite right now is the “Magnetic Dress-up Playsets”. We now own 4 set of them (thanks to Christmas). We also own a LOT of their food toys.

So, now I have completed the other 4 tasks. Thanks for making me do something other than just LURK on Twitter (& here, actually!).

Awesome! Our favorite item (which we already own) is the little miniature grocery cart. No plastic here, just like a real grocery cart.

We love the food we can cut, and we play store all the time. My daughter has curly hair like the moosh. They should be friends, we live in Indy…!! :)

Love love the M & D wooded food set that velcro together my daughter also got the sushi set for xmas and she really loves all of it.

I don’t have any little ones yet, so I’ll leave this contest to those that do… but I had to comment anyway because the moosh is so darn cute. I remember how much fun it was to play store/kitchen/anything that grown-ups did. Ah, to be young again…

I love their little sushi kits… sooo cute!

Ah crap ! The only reason to hate living in the Great White North ! i LURVE Melissa & Doug, wooden toys rock ! We got tons at home for the kids. Great giveaway !

Love the Pizza Party. Just saw it at my sister’s house over the holidays.

As a former preschool teacher I love all of it. ;-) If I have to pick on I will say puzzles.

My toddler would love the Pretty Purse fill and spill. My toddler & 5yo would love the puzzles.

Moosh is adorable. I’d buy weights from her.

I love Melissa and Doug. I can’t even count how many of their puzzles we have at my house. That being said, I’ve always coveted their Deluxe Floor-Standing Wooden Easel. My son, the budding artist, would love this so much.

I’m so very afraid to go to the Melissa and Doug site. I’ve loved everything of theirs I’ve ever encountered, and visiting the site would be bad for the budget. I had no idea there was a lemonade stand/grocery store. How cute is that?!?

I have a wooden doll with magnetic clothes (like a paper doll, but wood?) and cutting food (pizza). Well, I don’t have it, my daughter does, and the quality is pretty amazing.

I love all the food. My little girl loves the pizza and birthday cake set

I love all the M&D stuff, but especially the play food. We have several sets, including food groups, cutting foods, and the sandwich kit.

We love some Melissa and Doug around these parts. Love this little store, I want to play with it.

I know my son would love the Parking Garage or the City Ramp!

I am following Melissa and Doug!

We too love Melissa & Doug products, and our hands down favorite is the Pizza Party set. The kids love making pizzas to order with the interchangeable velcro toppings, and it just happens to slide just perfectly into their play oven. We would love to use some of our long winter months to make play lemonade!

I just took a peek at the Melissa & Doug web site, where I signed up for their blog AND their newsletter. Two more chances at a super lemonade stand, please! Fun contest. Thanks for sharing!

Whoa. Pick a favorite item at Melissa and Doug? IMPOSSIBLE!

I guess the first thing on my next-to-get list is the pound-a-peg. But we do need some puppets, too. Hmm. Is that good enough?

I’m thinking about getting the responsibility chart! My kids need the reminders and it looks like a cheerful fun motivator!

I’m following the blog too!

I love their puzzles that make sounds. Especially the farm animal puzzle. Because a two year old playing with a puzzle is cute, but a two year old playing with a puzzle and mooing like a cow simultaneously is even better.

I LOVE the Melissa & Doug kitchen (I don’t own it)

I follow Melissa & Doug’s blog

I follow Melissa & Doug on Twitter – I just LOVe their products!

I subscribe to Melissa & Doug’s newsletter. I love that they let you know of upcoming sales and new products.

Slice and bake cookie set! I bought it for my 2 yr old girl for Christmas and My hubby thought it was a silly idea – but he was wrong. It gets more play-time than anything else in the house (other than star wars, but she is the only girl with 3 brothers so that’s to be expected).

Food Play Pizza kit from Mellissa and Doug; I really love this lemondade stand and I always wanted it for my daughter. I never bought any of their items but I’ve been checking them out for a while now.

My all time favorite is hard to choose. But if pressed I would have to say the cutting food. SUPER cute, easy to cut, and so fun!

I now follow Melissa and Doug on twitter, and am tweeting now!

We heart Melissa & Doug at my house. Current faves are the sushi set and the fishing puzzle thing that comes with a pole to let you “catch” the puzzle pieces. We also love their alphabet blocks, and their stringing beads. So yeah, I guess you could say we’re fans!

I am a really big fan of their puzzles. My 3 year old has a great time with them!
